Frequently Asked Questions
Who drives the boat?
The Estero Adventures staff will train members of your crew how to operate the boat, as well as any rules they will need to know during your rental expedition.
Are pets allowed on the boats?
Yes, for a $20 flat rate fee to cover maintenance and cleanings costs. Service animals are allowed at no cost.
Are food and drink allowed on the boats? What about alcoholic drinks? And will there be any food and drink available for purchase?
Yes, to all! Additionally, our wine lounge Vino Estero has wine, beer, and soft drinks available for purchase.
IMPORTANT: The rules state the "captain" (whoever signed personal liability for operating the craft during the rental) must stay sober at all times.
What's the latest time a boat can go out?
All boats have to return by sunset, meaning the time can vary from day to day. Given this, our last boat can go out no later than the rental period's length before sunset. For example, if you want a 2-hour boat ride and sunset is at 7:45pm, your boat must go out before 5:45pm or you'd have to shorten your rental period.
Where in the bay can the boats go?
This depends on the tide and current of the water. The boats must all remain in the deep channel and cannot enter open ocean waters, but our staff will show you on a map posted inside the boat where the markings are. These markers will indicate where it is safe to travel and where you might incur any problems navigating the water.
What features are on the boat itself?
All boats have a table, cup holders, a Bluetooth stereo, a foldable canopy, and cushioned seats. Our staff can also provide blankets at your request if it's a bit chilly outside.
Is fishing allowed on the boat?
No, fishing is strictly prohibited from our boats.
Do we have to wear/bring life jackets?
Only children aged 12 and under are required to wear life jackets at all times. We have life jackets in a variety of sizes, and emergency life jackets are kept on all boats at all times.

Took our 8 year old grandson for an electric boat tour of the bay. We all absolutely loved it. It was his highlight of the weekend and that weekend had a lot of amazing activities including zip lining. The Estero Adventures boat ride was his top pick! The staff is very professional, Mike the deckhand was very helpful and friendly. The boats are pristine and very easy to navigate. Highly recommend.

Hands down the best place to stay in Morro Bay!!! This place is amazing. The view from our room was incredible and the location couldn’t be more perfect. Walking distance to all of the shops and restaurants in the town and also close to many prime sea otter viewing spots! Super comfortable room and very cozy with the fireplace and also balcony. 10/10 recommend booking the Estero Inn for an amazing weekend trip in Morro Bay!

Great location, walkable to all of the restaurants but far enough away that there was very little crowds and noise. Staff were incredibly accommodating, friendly and efficient. The room was very clean, large, and had a fantastic view (we had a downstairs room). Our stay was a pleasure but, alas much too short.

By far our favourite place that we have stayed in on our California tour. Such an amazing hotel. Lovely spacious rooms with lots of nice touches. Stunning views across the bay, and you can watch otters, sea lions and pelicans from your balcony. Great friendly staff who are really helpful.
